小型压路机的选择：
1）、对于一、二级国家干线公路和汽车专用路，应使用6~10t的具有较高压实能力的大型振动压路机；对于三级以下的公路，或不经常进行压实作业时，最好配备2t左右的机动灵活的振动压路机。
2）、对于水泥混凝土路面，可采用轮胎驱动式串联振动压路机；
3）、对于沥青混凝土路面，应选用全驱动式振动压路机；
4）、对于高级路面路基的底层，最好选用轮胎压路机或轮胎驱动振动压路机进行压实，以获得均匀的密实度；
5）、修补路面时可选用静力作用式光轮压路机。
6）、对于岩石填方压实，应选用大吨位压路机，以便使大型块料发生位移；
7）、对于粘土的压实，最好使用凸块捣实式压路机；
8）、对于混合料的压实，最好选择振动式压路机，以便使大小粒料掺和均匀；
9）、深层压实宜采用重型振动压路机慢速碾压，浅层则应选用静力作用式压路机。
10）、在新开道路上碾压时，应从中间向两侧碾压，最后的碾压边应距路基边缘半米以上。修筑山区道路时，必须由里侧向外侧碾压，碾压第二行时需重叠半个滚轮的长度，距路基边缘1米以上。两台碾压时，间距至少保持3米以上。上下坡时，不得换档和滑行。
11）、压路机开动前，必须注意机械前后有无障碍和人员，方可开动。在压路机运行中，不得进行修理。
12）、在压路机正在前进，需改变方向向后退时，应待压路机停止后，再拉动换向器操纵杆，严禁利用换向离合作为压路机制动之用。

compaction should be used for the slow rolling of heavy vibratory roller, and
the static acting roller should be used in the shallow layer.
10), when
rolling on the new road, it should be rolled from the middle to both sides, and
the final rolling edge should be more than half a meter from the edge of the
roadbed. When building mountain roads, it must be rolled by the lateral side of
the inner side. The length of the half roller should be overlapped when the
second lines are rolled, and more than 1 meters from the edge of the subgrade.
During the two rolling, the distance is at least 3 meters above. There is no
shift and skiing on the upper and lower slopes.
11) before the
roller is opened, it is necessary to pay attention to the obstacles and
personnel before and after the machine. No repairs should be made during the
operation of a roller.
12), when the
roller is moving ahead and needs to change direction and backward, it is
necessary to pull the commutator joystick after stopping the road roller, and
strictly prohibit the use of commutation and cooperation for the braking of the
road roller.
